Make your own way to Kyzylorda, Kazakhstan, where our group meet. Kyzylorda serves as the gateway to Baikonur and is well connected by frequent domestic flights and rail services from Astana and Almaty.
Spend the day exploring Kyzylorda at your own pace. Visit local markets, admire the city's space-themed monuments, enjoy traditional Kazakh cuisine, or simply relax before the adventure begins.
This is also a great opportunity to meet your fellow travellers over dinner and get to know the group before heading to Baikonur the following morning.
We recommend staying at Selena Star Hotel, conveniently located near the train station. If you'd like assistance with your accommodation booking, we're happy to help.

We'll start our journey to the legendary Baikonur City. Once one of the Soviet Union's most secretive locations, this closed city was heavily guarded during the Cold War and played a pivotal role in the Soviet space program.
We will drive along the amazing Kazakh steppes for 3 hours towards, with a optional stop at the Korkyt-Ata Memorial, a site symbolic to the Turkic people in Kazakhstan.
We will then pass through multiple Russian checkpoints (as Baikonur is leased to Russia) to get to Baikonur City.
Throughout the day, we'll explore Baikonur's most iconic landmarks, including the Soyuz Rocket Monument, Yuri Gagarin Statue, Baikonur Mosaic, Lenin Statue, the Central Market, and the city's unique blend of Soviet architecture and space-themed monuments.
We will also spend some time at souvenir shops.

Step inside the underground Launch Command Post, discover fascinating rocket monuments, and learn about the remarkable history of the Soviet space programme.
After our visit, we'll return to Baikonur City for dinner and a short rest before preparing for the evening's launch.
In the evening, we'll once again pass through Russian security checkpoints as we head to the traditional Yurta launch viewing area. (Launch timing to be confirmed at a later date)
As the countdown reaches zero, witness the unforgettable sight and thunderous roar of a Soyuz rocket lifting off into the night sky—an experience that only a handful of travellers get to witness in person. Ground shaking!
